Late April In New York: A Wonderful Balance Of Chefs And Sommeliers.

There are so many reasons one should visit New York this month, here are a few more to consider:

#1 The In Pursuit of Balance event, co-created by Jasmine Hirsch and Rajat Parr will be in NYC all next week. Beyond the trade tasting (now full) there are several other dinners with seats still available that will undoubtedly convince you of the importance of this bicoastal event.  Starting with the Lioco Wine Dinner w/ Matt Licklider at L’Artusi on April 16. Then on Tuesday April 17, Gavin Chanin from Chanin Wine Company & Rajat Parr of Sandhi Wine will host a dinner at Buttermilk Channel in Brooklyn. For more information about the IPOB event and the wines they are reflecting, watch this video with Joe Campanale and Jasmine Hirsch.

#2 An Umbrian inspired dinner with Chefs Sara Jenkins and Salvatore Denaro at Porsena on April 23.  I have admired Chef Jenkins for some time, her genuine attention to the authentic Italian cuisine is, well, remarkable and a demonstration of her continued commitment as a chef, mentor, and writer.

#3 Clusel-Roch Côte Rotie Winemaker Dinner at Boulud Sud with Sommelier Michael Madrigale on April 26. The first dinner since its opening, the wines selected will be paired with four courses created by Chef Aaron Chambers.

But wait…there’s one more!

#4 Cook with New York’s Best Chefs at the New York Culinary Experience April 28-29.
